We are getting ready to switch over to AT&T 1GB internet cable service, but want to use our own equipment instead of renting. Not interested in a modem/router combo…want them separate.
I can’t seem to find information on which modem (not modem/router combo) that I can use with new AT&T internet service. We already have a router and do NOT want a modem/router combination piece of equipment. How can we find the best modem for AT&T internet service that is not a combo with a router?
Marcia, did you ever get an answer for this question? I have the same question as well. Our rural area only has AT&T DSL – no Uverse etc. I also want the modem split from the router.
BTW, we plan to have only 3 computers connected to the router, however at any given time only two computers will actually be active. But we plan to have all computers hard wired not WiFi, if this helps to provide better information for choices.
